These words are quotes and
were written many centuries ago
in the Master Work of all liter
ature. All else that could ever
be said would be but footnotes.
To “believe,’’ one must use his
mind--his thoughts, and we ex
press it also “as the heart,”
because our emotions seem to
arise from within an inner self.

“Desire”? What is this de
sire? Where does this drive
come from? What motivates the
drive? We must have a desire
or love for something in order
to attain any goal. When we
desire or love we tap a source
of power known only and con
trolled by the Creator.
I have come to believe that
God’s love and spirit is every
where. There is but one God,
one presence, one power ex
isting in all things. It controls
the most distant star to the
smallest innermost particle of
the atom in a flower, a weed,
a blade of grass. All there
is--is bathed in the one mind
of the Creator, The life prin
ciple Is all inclusive.
The ultimate aim in every
life is love. Love is the high
est Gift of God. It is the great
est good on the face of the earth.
It is the treasure at the end of
our rainbow.
Ernest Holmes, editor, philo
sopher, expresses it; “What is
love in its broadest sense? Love
is the impartation of the self,
the givingness of everything we
are or hope to be, or have;
and giving it in joy and without
reservation, in complete aban
donment. Everything loves.
It is a universal quality. It is
something that is shared alike
by animal, fish, bird and in
human life it reaches a higher
degree of expression,”
This love is a state of con
sciousness, in all its aspects.
That, we must recognize. It
radiates, it has power. Since
the life principle is love, it is
in everything and everything will
respond to us as we so desire.
If you had the faith of a grain
of mustard seed, order the
mountain removed, and it would
be removed. Everything--and
people especially, assume the
level or atmosphere that sur
rounds our personalities or our
very selves.
What we must come to under
stand, however, is that this
same current of desire and
power can also run in the op
posite direction. If everything
we meet responds to us at the
level of our consciousness, than
what we encounter in the many
forms of hate, must be just
what we expected to find.
Those who radiate anta
gonism, invite antagonism.
Those who radiate discontent,
invite discontent. Those who
radiate trouble, invite trouble.
Those who radiate resentment,
invite resentment. Those who
radiate hate, invite hate.
Think on this for a moment
and your life may change com
pletely. Whenever you start out
on any venture with the wrong
desire, or selfish motive, in
all probability, the greatest odds
are that it will boomerang. If
not--it shall never completely
succeed. Somewhere in the
structure the motivating power
of love is absent, and it shall
surely fail.
The greatest force on this
earth is love, and when used
in our every day lives and
attitudes it reacts with mathe
matical accuracy. Plotinus said:
“This is something everybody
has, but which few people use.”

Yes, my friends, God is love,
we see it expressed in a uni
versal sense. The Divine spirit
is in all the beauty of life,
in all of reality. It is absolute—
it is truth.
It is evident that fears, mis
understanding, selfishness and
hate are the motivating power
of destruction and death in the
world. I’ve been accused of being
a dreamer, but cloud nine is
not such a bad place--and there
is plenty of room there for
others. If all our fears, fru
strations and hate were sur
rendered to love and the mag
nanimity of understanding, the
people of this globe would not
be in the turmoil they are in
today.
For only through love and
understanding can the wounds
of the world be healed. It is
the highest and most powerful
principle of life in everything--
and with everyone, in tune It will
act in unity with itself.
