The game which we played against the Kinston Red Devils was exciting and a victory for New Bern. The 1963 Follies drew a filrly large crowd Friday night, but the people who attended It must have really enjoyed It, for the New Bern High school auditorium was almost completely packed Satur day night. The cast was extremely nervous the first night, but that didn’t harm them In their acts. Saturday night the “1963 Mer maid’’ was chosen. Peggy Pate, who had the most money col lected for votes, was the winner. There was a bag of money under the counter which was overlooked and not counted that belonged to Peggy. Both the winner and runner- up received savings bonds. After the Follies, a cast party was given at the East Carolina Yacht Club. The cast gave the director, Chris Carter, a long, white London Fog. There was a rush to the Blue Notes alter the Follies. Considering the game In Kinston and the Follies, there was a pretty good crowd attend ing. The Junior class at New Bern high school had a meeting Fri day morning In the auditorium. The theme of the Junior-Senior Prom was decided among the juniors. Wouldn’t you seniors like to know what It Is? Sorry, you will have to wait. New Bern’s unpre dictable Bears might do the trick, if they are successful against other opponents.
