Friday, July 26, 1963 THE NEW BERN MIRROR. NEW BERN, N. C. Page Five MIRROR MEDITATION By EMMITT L. BRINSON Have you ever wondered where the origin of thought, urge, and desire comes from? Scientists have spent a great deal of time on this subject, and only come up with statis tics on results. Some desires we are fully conscious of, while others are subconscious drives. How ever, I believe It Is fully pos sible that some of the sub conscious drives are ours through Inheritance, coming to us through the hereditary genes. Most of these are primitive drives or urges of a species or race. They cause us uncon sciously to develop character istics common to lineage. Some drives are caused by deep-rooted or conscious experience of the past, coming from the subconscious where It has been stored. It reacts al most as a reflex or trait. The real urge or conscious desire can be guided by one’s own will. This “will” that Is ours, can steer the thoughts that come to our minds. The teaser In all this Is: Where does our thought come from? This very definitely comes from and emlnates through the eternity Domain. The Infinite or cosmic mind of God. Man Is further confused as to why we have good and bad thoughts In the Infinite mind of God. They are caused by man’s human limitations to decipher this flow of pure Information. For we must remember that man Is but an Image of God. This, I believe. Is why our Creator gave us a will of our own and a conscience In which to make a choice. If you want to test the pos sibilities of your contact with an Infinite Mind, the next time you have a weighty problem, or you need to make an Impor tant decision, think about the pros and cons of the problem by screening everything In volved through your mind. Do not pressure yourself for an answer. Make sure you place these thoughts away In your subconscious and sleep on It. In every case the crystal clear decision that comes to you, after your subconscious has mulled It over. Is the right one. Edison stated that many an swers to most of his great problems of Inventive genius came to him In this very man ner, and he felt a nearness to God. Many times It came to him In his sleep. Could this be the same power we experience through prayer? Purely because we earnestly prepare ourselves to receive an answer from our Creator? And during our meditation of relaxed sincerity and serenity, does this open the stop gaps of our will, for Him to reward us with direct flow, through our entity with his Infinite mind, where all truth Is perfect?
