Frid.'iy. October 18, 1963 THE NEW BERN MIRROR, NEW BERN, N. C. Page Seven As Seen in The Mirror's SPORTS of Athletes and Events From the standpoint of scor ing, last Friday night was a big evening for Craven’s high school football teams. As was expected, New Bern clobbered the Jones Central Rockets 47- 0. WOODROW MOORE'S Supplying Indoor Comfort With Carrier Heating and Air Conditioning 2609 Trent Road NOTICE IN THE SUPERIOR COURT NORTH CAROLINA PAMLICO COUNTY EMMA B. C. DAIL VS TIMERLANE FARMS, INC., et al TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: to the parties above named and all other parties interested will take notice that on 1st day of October 1963 the above named petitioner filed a petition in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Pamlico County to have the title to certain lands therein described rec- istered and confirmed pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 90 of the Public Laws of 1943 and a-ts am- mendatory thereof and supplemental- thereto (Chapter 43 of the General Statutes of North Carolina) and that summons has been issued returnable at the office of the Clerk of Su perior Court. This the 1st day of October 1963. SADIE L. WOODARD. Clerk Superior Court, Pamlico County Meanwhile, Havelock humili ated East Duplin 38-0, and Vanceboro registered a 26-13 win over Elm City. All In all, it proved to be a pleasant week end for players, coaches and fans In this area. Tonight, the Bears face stlf- fer opposition from the Green ville Phantoms, in the Pitt town, but stand a fair chance to emerge victorious. Neither outfit figures Importantly at the mo ment In the Northeastern Con ference race, but they both want this one badly. Kinston’s classy Red Devils continue to run roughshod over the rest of the teams in the loop, and lost none of their glitter In downing Roanoke Rapids 21-0. Few expect Eliza beth City—defeated 13-6 by Greenville In their last outing— to stop the Devils tonight. Barring an upset along the way that no one contemplates, the Lenoir eleven will still be undefeated when It comes to New Bern for the season’s finale In the not distant future. A victory for the Bears, regard less of what has happened dur ing the rest of the campaign, would result in a joyful cele bration here. All odds point toward an easy win for the Kinstonians, but the hopeful—remembering how the Dodgers took the Yankees in four games—are crossing their fingers, knocking on wood, and wishing lor an even greater miracle. Forgive us for doubt ing that it will come. New Bern’s victory over Jones Central proved nothing, but It was a happy occasion for Donald Hudson. In action at last, following a prolonged injury, he performed brilliantly. So did a lot of other youngsters, who got their chance when Coach Klutz cleared the bench.
