Page Eight THE NEW BERN MIRROR, NEW BERN, N. C. Friday, October 25, J963 Thank goodness, we were for tunate enough not to be In the path of the hurricane. What a mess that would have been. I wouldn’t want anything to happen to damage the Improvements that have been made around town. I know for years now every one would godown Broad street, just so they would not have to ride on the street with rail road tracks. That was a danger ous and terrible street to ride on, especially during the days tliat it rained. There certainly has been quite an Improvement made. Now you can travel with ease. There have been complaints, but just think what is accomplished after all the work is done. Our boys were really in there that night. Here’s hoping they con tinue to win and play as they did. 1 think Greenville was a little surprised at the outcome. Let’s keep the spirit up. Tuesday is the day which brings another free day. That’s right—Teachers Meeting. What an annual blessing. We all wel come a break during the week. We always go on about the football players and never say a word about the band, so here goes. Really our band is very good. They gave an excellent performance Friday night, along with the majorettes. There are quite a few blondes on the majorette squad as you can see.
