If you like a different plant for a hanging basket or trail ing plant, for you porch boxes, grow Trailing Velvet. It Is a small, wedge-leafed plant of reddish purple. It has a fuzzy edge. The blooms are purple, pink and white. One of the plants you don’t want to plant Is the Kudzu vine. It Is advertised as Jack-In- The Beanstalk, with the claim that It will grow where nothing else will grow. This Is a cor rect statement, and you can never kill It. Rail companies and highway workers put It out to keep the road shoulders green. It would cover a field in a season. Plant a mountain ash for pretty white flowers In spring, and bright red berries In sum- Llfe Is a gift to be used every day. Not to be smothered and hidden away; It Isn’t a thing to be stored In the chest Where you gather your keep sakes and treasure your best; It Isn’t a joy to be sipped now and then And promptly put back In a dark place again. Life Is a gift that the humb lest may boast of And one that the humblest may well make the most of. Get out and live it each hour of the day.
