You have not seen anything
until you have seen our “re
fined sedate” teachers on the
court acting like we should be
acting. (Well—most of us.)
Credit should be given to the
players. On the Men's team
(faculty) there were Mr. Hart,
Mr. Anders, Mr, Godwin, Mr,
Prescott, Mr. Hopkins and Mr.
Grady. On the student team were
Gram Dixon, Ralph Pollock,
Dale Goldman, Skip Crayton,
Earl Williams, John Smith,
Dickie Dickinson, Tom Marsh
and David Hale.
Coach for the Women’s team
(faculty) was Miss Margaret
Flshel. Players wereMrs. Wil
son, Mrs. Karam, Mrs. Jerni-
gan, Mrs. Briggs, Mrs. Finch,
Miss Hill and Mrs. Grady. On
the student team were Ann
Hammond, Cheryl Cobb, Sally
King, Linda Daniels, Jan Lee,
Nonl White, Margaret Lamm,
Bunny Zaytoun, Glnny Kennel,
Judy Williams, Linda Edwards,
and Alma McSorley.
Cheerleaders for the Students
were Terry Faulkner, Bobby
Griffin, Bill Rlvenbark, Ricky
Green, Mike Goodwin and Stan
Braddy.' Cheerleaders for the
faculty were Mrs. Helen Smith,
Mrs. Willis, Mrs. Watson, Miss
Meredith (don’t ask us how!)
You can imagine what type
games were played. In my opin
ion, the women’s teams are the
best to watch. The men seem
awfully dull, don’t you think?
A little too much seriousness.
You couldn’t help but laughing
at their get-ups. Honestly, the
men have excellent taste, but
heavens, the women with their
bloomers and sailor blouses.
Tom and David were also pres
ent, to make this event the most.
Here are the fortunate ones
who were voted for this year’s
Senior Superlatives at NBHS.
Most talented—Judy Stewart
and Lloyd Lane; Most depend-
able--Lynn Watson and Billy
Pierce; Most versatile—David
Pugh and Sally King; Best Per
sonality—Ellen Lansche and
Billy Prescott; Most Intellec-
tual--Barbara Wetherlngton
and Leslie Morris; Best stu
dent leadership — Barbara

THEIR CHOICE—New Bern High school seniors have
singled out Sallie King as most versatile girl in the
class of ’64. As you can see, she is not only versatile
but charming.
Wetherlngton and John Smith.
Well, next week is vacation
time again. As for myself I’m
taking off for the northern coun
tries. Only three more school
days, students, before we have
freedom again. I do believe we
actually have six complete days
of leisure awaiting us.
Until next week, be careful
drivlng--especially you teen
agers.
