I have a friend that I hear pray often, but I have yet to hear him ask God for anything. His words are in gratitude for what God has done in giving life and his meager lot. Oh, he asks His blessings on many things, but leaves all to God’s will. And he is grateful that he has strength to set about causing God’s blessings to become real ities. Even if we are sour on the world, we should be thankful for the long procession of people who made our great nation pos sible, and pray that God will always keep it so. We should be grateful for the wisdom, the blood, sweat and tears, the bard work, of those who helped enrich our lives. The teachers who tau^t, who inspired, who shed lit^t on darkness, who instilled the ro- ^iQance .of learning, of acquir ing knowledge, so we might face with vigor and anticlpatlmi the problems that confront us throughout 4 life-time. And the ministers and reli gious friends who lit the fire and illuminated the truths that God e]q>ressed, so they mlcdit become gUldeposts in our dally lives, helping us to rise above the many problems. For our parents and friends who along life’s paths and gauntlets touched us with love and loyalty, giving us security, encouragement, and sense of accomplishment for a job well done. Let us thank God for the knowledge that everyone and everything is a part of Him and of the whole, and we need but recognize and call uponHim for solace, as well as to receive strengU to accept the oppor tunities of great things ahead in this fast evolving and chang ing world.
