by Sinclair Lewis when he was
asked to deliver an address on
the subject at Yale University.
The famous novelist walked
on the stage and asked, "How
many of you want to be a writ
er?” Hundreds of students
raised their hands. "Then
write,” he told them, and that
was the extent of his speech.
