The sensation Is liable to evaporate rather quickly, when reality sets In, but at first lt»s enjoyable. Whatever you did, we hope your summer months were packed with pleasure. We live in a city almost surrounded by water, and the ocean Is only a short drive away, so swim ming, skiing, surfing or just sunning, werepopularpastimes for many of us. If some of them are homesick, temporarily, they'll appreciate hearing from you. As usual, we nave a new col lection of freshmen with us. Some of them look frightened and slightly befuddled, butafew act like they've grown accus tomed to Hl^ school life al ready. If you're a freshman, just remember that everybody on the campus, including dignified seniors, was a freshman once, and just as self conscious as you are. Be considerate of others, and you'll be liked and respect ed. In fact, freshmen have some thing on upper classmen, be cause they can look forward to four years of happy and pro ductive Hi^ school activity. At this point, you can do what you will with your entire High school career. Upper classmen aren't that fortunate. They still have one, two or three years to achlve scholastically, but for better or worse, the previous years can't be changed. Getting an education Is ser ious business, and if you rec ognize this right from the start, you'll have no regrets.
