Usually a woman doesn’t call
another woman “sister” until
she has called her a lot of other

It seems to us that the most
successful marriage
imaginable is one where the
wife is the boss and doesn’t
know it.
The one thing a road map
doesn't tell you is how to fold it
up after you get through
studying it.
Maybe those guys who shout
radio and television com-
mericals think there are at least
a thousand people in your living
room.
Philosophy helps us to view
misfortune more calmly, and
thereby be unhappy more in
telligently.
If people have intelligence
superior to dumb animals, why
do they elect people with in
ferior intelligence to govern
them?
Trying to find a wife who
doesn't nag her husband at least
part of the time is as hopeless as
a bowlegged wrestler trying to
apply the scissors hold.
A fern is a plant you’re
supposed to water once a day,
but when you don’t it dies, but if
you do it dies anyway, only not
so soon.
The trouble with drunks is
that they drink like a fish, in
stead of drinking only what a
fish drinks.
