At best her victory is hollow, and won’t make for a happier home. For one thing, there were fewer people killing each other on usually busy highways. Following every bit of action with extreme concentration kept that exasperating guy you live with from noticing how you’ve gained weight and added wrinkles, and wolfish notions about someone more glamorous weren’t on his mind. Whatever the reason, be thankful for the fact that your husband was finding enjoyment in his own home. Admittedly, home is mostly a place to get James E. Wilson and wife, Katherine L. Before you trade him in for a man who couldn’t care less about gridiron heroics, take a long look at his replacement. Everybody is bound to be a nut about something. Quite possibly you’re a nut yourself about soap operas. During the week, while your husband isn’t around, you drool over what is happening to Emily and George, or Sidney and Mary, for hours on end. And likely as not you watch those idiotic game shows, day in and day out, where would be contestants arrive in crazy costumes, and squeal to high heaven.
