Page 2 West Craven HIGHLIGHTS, November 2,1978 There is a story hour each Thursday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. for school-age children at the New Bern-Craven County Public Library, 400 Johnson Street, New Bern. The Vanceboro Rotary Club' meets every Thursday night at 7:00 pm in the banquet room of Vera’s Diner in Morris Plaza in Vanceboro. Thirty attend Cannon-Kite reunion ’s T.V. Service Hwy.llSWest 244-1669 The family of the late Mrs. Bertha Tripp Cannon re cently gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laurie Kite in Askin for a family reunion. An old fashioned outdoor picnic lunch was enjoyed and the autumn Sunday afternoon was spent in family fellow ship. Approximately 30 people were in attendance includ ing Mrs. Cannon’s children and their families: Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Lewis, Mrs. Bertha Kite and Mrs. Leslie Smith. The family decided to establish the first Sun day in June for its annual reunion with the 1979 loca tion planned at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cannon in Chocowinty. It will be held Sunday, November 12 from 3-5 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The public is being urged to support this very worthwhile event. High blood pressure affects all ages. The results from not being treated can lead to permanent disability and even death. On Sunday night, Octo ber 22, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ipock of Ernul were honored with an anniver sary party at their home with the following guests: Mrs. Ethel Ipock, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ipock, Mr. and Mrs. George Smith and Mrs. Ruth Keel and child ren all of Ernul. Cake, punch, nuts and mints were served. Miss Wanda Drake of Western Carolina Universi ty spent last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Drake. While home she attended the homecom ing game at West Craven High School. Wanda was accompanied back to cam pus on Tuesday with her family. Nathaniel Fulcher, Jr. visited with his mother and sister, Mrs. Myrtle Fulcher and Mrs. Mary Taylor. He is associated with Raleigh- Durham Airport as a con trol tower operator. He left Saturday for a « month’s special training in Oklahoma. John Drake went to Charlotte with the West Craven High School Band for competition. While there they spent the day at Carowinds. Miss Claudia Taylor and Pat Trounter went with their class to New Bern last week. While there they visited the Waste Treat ment Plant. Miss Michelle Hudson spent the weekend in Washington with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Alligood. Mr. Fred Mills, Sr. of New Bern visited Mrs. Poss Ipock in Ernul, Saturday. Mrs. Ruth Keel and ^^1 children of Ernul spent a night recently with Mr. and Mrs. Carson Jones of Vanceboro.
