Daugherty are leaving Sunday for Ashe ville to attend the Farm Bureau Convention. The N.C. Top No. 152 met Monday night with 14 members present. The pro gram was a discussion among the group on how to lose weight. Mrs. Bernice Case received a yellow silk rose for being the weekly queen. Senior Citizens % party planned Willis elected chairman New Bern, N.C.-“We will both learn together,” John Willis said, addressing students from West Craven High School, shortly after being elected chairman of the five man Craven County Board of Commis sioners last Monday. An overflow crowd watched as new commissioner Gerald Anderson nominated Willis ‘‘after much thought on the matter.” Willis pledged to do everything he can to serve Craven County as a whole. He indicated that he The Senior Citzens of this area are being enter tained on Sunday, Decem ber 10th at three o’clock in the Fellowship Hall of the Vanceboro Christian Church. Hoi Ho! Ho! We are hoping to have a good time with these young Seniors. Plans are being, made by the Christian Women’s Fellowship for each one to have lots of fun. There will be singing of Christmas carols, games, special music, gifts and refreshments. Ho! Ho! Ho! and maybe there will be a big surprise. The president, Mrs. Jill Campbell, hopes this year’s party will be as successful as in the past. To give the seniors some happiness and joy at Christmas is our goal. State Representative Chris Barker, Jr. will be the guest speaker at the regular Thursday night meeting of the Vanceboro Rotary Club at Vera’s Diner tonight at 7:00 p.m. Rep.
