The long awaited event is
finally upon us. After
driving around town in the
summer’s dust or mud and
with a wet winter ahead,
relief is in sight for dirty
car owners. Vanceboro’s
first ultra-modern, self-
service car wash is opening
this week. David Lan
caster, owner of the facility
which is located Hwy 43 in
Vanceboro revealed 'that
the car wash will have its
Grand Opening this
Saturday. A ribbon cutting
with local dignitaries will
be held at 2:00 p.m. that
afternoon. As a special
grand opening offer, Mr.
Lancaster will provide a
free car wash to the first
twelve customers at the
Grand Opening. Free T-

shirts wil also be given
away each hour. The car
wash features 24-hour
vacuum service (.26? for
vacuum, .50? for wash).
The wash cycle has a
powerful warm water
spray along with wax. An
added convenience for
thier customers is a
vending machine with
cleaning supplies. Mr.
Lancaster points out that
the bays are extra tall to
accommodate trucks and
farm equipment.

Sunday October 7.
One of the most exciting
events is the Four Minute
Water Ball. In this event
each team tries to move a
ball past its opponent’s goal
using the firemen’s high
pressure water hoses. The
team having moved the
ball farthest from their
goal is the winner.
