Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ipock ^ew Tax Service opens in Vanceboro by Connie Bryan A new tax service office will be opening in Vanceboro this week. Community Tax Service, located beside M & W Gifts and owned by William Cleve, will feature Dianne Carawan as tax consultant. During January they will be open during the afternoon hours, but as the April 15 deadline ap- f iches they will increase ^‘hours of business, rs. Carawan is highly qualified for her position as tax consultant having completed a two year program in accounting at Craven Community and the H & R Block tax course four times in order to keep abreast of the constant changes in the tax laws. Mrs. Carawan, the former Miss Dianne Ewell, is the wife of Harold Carawan. They lived with their son. Dianne Carawan Denton, in the Stewart Park section of Vanceboro. Mrs. Carawan reports that they will be equipped to handle any tax problem, whether business, farm, or personal. The shOTt IRS form, 10-40 A, will cost $10. Other charges will be accessed according to the complicity of the return. Each return will also include a North Carolina Tax form. Mary Cleve, who has recently completed the Block course, will be assisting Mrs. Carawan. Sometime in the wee hours of Sunday morning, December 30, someone broke into the B. C Peterson & Son store on Main Street according to Mr. J. L. Peterson. The intruder damaged a TV and apparently made ofi with a pair of shoes. Police Chief Melvin Hudgins explained that the thief must have been frightened off for some reason since little of the rest of the store was distrubed. “It had to be someone small to be able to crawl in through the small side window/’ Peterson commented.
