Several upcoming events were discussed and plans were made for the activities. The Home Life Committee reported that the club will be helping to sponsor the Open House for the Association for Retarded Citizens Housing Development Service. The Open House will be held March 13 from 1-4 p.m. The house is located on James Street in Vanceboro nd all local residents are encouraged to visit. More plans were finalized for the Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon. The fashion show will be held Saturday, March 27th at 11 a.m. in the Vanceboro Elementary School Auditorium. Fashions from Glenda’s and Ann Marie’s will be modeled. Also, some children’s fashions from Different Strokes will be seen. Tickets for the show and luncheon will be sold by each clubwoman. All proceeds will be donated to the Town Library. The Conservation Committee is planning a special program for the April VJWC meeting. A panel of special guests, including Mayor Jimmie Morris, Senator Joe Thomas, County Commissioner Grover I..ancaster, and Board of Education Chairman Roger Forrest, will be present to discuss local concerns. Plans for the Easter Egg Hunt to be held April 3rd at Linda Whitford’s home were added to the business agenda. President Peggie Mills conducted a survey of the club’s needs at the end of the meeting. Democratic Party Meeting There will be a Vanceboro Precinct meeting of the Demo cratic Party Thursday, March 11th at 8:00 p.m. at the Vanceboro Town Hall. Delegates will be elected to attend the Craven County Conven tion Saturday, April 3rd, at 1:00 p.m. at the Craven County Courthouse in New Bern. Branscome spoke their nuptial vows Christmas Eve, 1981 in a private ceremony at the home of the bride’s mother, Lucille 0.-Wilson, in Vanceboro wi^ the Rev. Willie Stilly officiating. |The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her brother, Mike Wilson. The bride’s attendants were her daughters, Lou Ann and Libby Roberson. Jim Ringold was the best man. Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride’s mother at her home, with Frances Hudson assisting. Goodbye’s were said to the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Rosa Wilson, of Vanceboro and Mr. Bud Coward of Vanceboro. Mr. and Mrs. Branscome are now residing in Bridgeton.
