FORTBARNWELL -NOUGHTS- The Bulletin By MRS. B.H. MITCHELL Easter has come and gone for the year of 1982. Its meaning to the masses may be different in many ways and yet most of the people in the Christian world look forward to the return of Easter. What do we see and hear during the Easter season? We see people in the Christian world preparing messages and lessons about the death and suffering of Jesus Christ who lived and died to save us from our sins. Christians learn to keep the faith in His coming back for those who believe in His teaching. Plays and pageants, songs and poems, all before and after the week-end of Easter, were shared in most communities. A second look may be at parents and friends preparing to make someone happy and joyous. New clothes, new gifts, a special meal or an egg hunt and many other games to please are awarded to many at Easter. A third look may be at our neighbors moving out to the job that lends support to the families in the community. Some are doing well and seem to be moving about calm and peacefully. Others are in doubt about their jobs while others are looking for jobs. Peace is not easy to be seen with these neighbors even at Easter. The farmer, the logger, the lawyer, the teacher and many others have come short of the means to supply the many needs that face them today. One thing that made many people scratch their heads were income taxes on April 16th. That is as sure to come as Easter, but we seem to dread that date on our calendar. To make our view clearer, just listen to the echoes and soon we’ll be looking for Easter and tax time again and we must keep our faith in Jesus Christ and believe He can guide us aright in spite of the threat of war and poverty in this great world and country that we live in. «««*« The pastor and members of St. John A.
