Mark Meltzer Receives Award
At a surprise presentation during the Greenville
Jaycees Installation and Awards Banquet held
Saturday night, Mr. Mark Meltzer, guidance
counselor at West Craven High School, was given the
highest honor bestowed by the Jaycees,. when he was
awarded a Jaycee International Senatorship and a
lifetime membership in the Jaycees.
During the twelve years that Mr. Meltzer was a
member of the Greenville Jaycees, he served as a
member of the Board of Directors, Ways and Means
Vice President, External Vice President,
Parliamentarian, President, and past-Presidential
advisor. He was chairman of the Boys Home All Star
Game a§ well as numerous other projects. At various
times, Mr. Meltzer was named Spoke, Spark Plug,
and Key Man for the Greenville Jaycees, and
Outstanding Local President by the state
organization.
Vanceboro Town Board
Raises Water, Garbage Fees
The Vanceboro Board of Aldermen held their Alderman Whitley informed the Board that Officer

The Board reviewed the proposed budget for 1982- Officer Fees 28.00
83. After review, Alderman Johnson made a motion to Refund 227.36
table the budget until June 28, 1982, at 8:00 p.m. Police Reports 2.00
Motion was seconded by Alderman Tyre and carried.
Total budget is now $206,410. Contribution/Park 30.00
Alderman Whitley recognized Vernon Edwards for 75.00
attending Waste Water Treatment School and being A.B.C 285.00
top of his class. Motion was made by Alderman Cleve Police Sup 123.98
to give Vernon two days paid vacation in appreciation ^ ^®® 4,069.40
for his hard work. Motion was seconded by Alderman from Water & Sewer 16,603.43
