The United States Achievement Academy has announced that Victor Thomas Jones, Jr. has been named a 1982 United States National Award winner in Bus iness Education. This award is a prestigious honor very few students can ever hope to attain. In fact, the Academy recognizes less than 5% of all American high school students. Victor, who attends West Craven High School, was nominated for this National award by Mrs. Shirley Eriksson, a Business Education teacher at the school. Victor will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook, published nationally. The Academy selects USAA winners upon the exclusive recommenda tion of teachers, coaches, counselors or other school sponsors and upon the Standards of Selection set forth by the Academy. The criteria for selection are a student’s academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, citizenship, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability, and recommendation from a teacher or director. Victor is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor T. Jones. Grandparents are Mrs. Doris S. Toler of Ernul, N. C. and Mr. and Mrs. Fred T. Jones of Vance boro, N. C.
