Sharing Good News By Dorothy Fillingame The good news from the Word for today comes from Galatians 6:7-10. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption: but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of hte Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” To be able to sow to the Spirit, you have to be saved. If you don’t belong to Jesus Christ, our Saviour, I hope you will give Him your heart today. Then you can reap everlasting life, too! THE Good book—Rev. Adolphus Holmes of Grifton prepares for a Sunday program of preachin’, prayin’, & guitar pickin’. Burning: Bush Musical Program Burning Bush Holiness Church of Vanceboro had a musical program last Sunday of gospel harmony, electric guitar, drums, foot stomping, and hand clapping. Organized by choir member Mary Freeman of Vanceboro, the program was an effort to raise money to buy robes for the choir group. The three groups performing were the Traveling Stars of Vanceboro, the Murray Chapel Choir of Blounts Creek, and the Burning Bush Male Chorus. Church Steward David Freeman mentioned the effort underway to rebuild the almost 60 year old church just north of Vanceboro. “We are about halfway done and we have added new bathrooms, put sheetrock on the walls, added new benches, and reworked the wood floors.” Next Sunday at 11 a. m. is Men’s Day. Women’s Fellowship The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Vanceboro Christian Church met Wednesday night, June 9th at 7:30 p. m. Linda Chesson, president, gave the welcome to the 15 people attending. The worship was by Clara Lou Ipock. Her topic was “Thy Life Was Given For Me.” In her talk, she said - our talents differ, but all have something to give. The offering was followed by prayer. Linda Chesson is in charge of the program for June. Motion was made to buy three dozen new chairs for the Fellowship Hall. The group is making plans to begin a new project - ^ ' making aprons. The CWF benediction was said in unison. Refreshments of potato chips, dip, cake, and soft drinks were served by hostesses Doris White, Carolyn Russell, and Elaine Moore.
