f * V u X. f Ipock-Allen Wedding j On June 26th, Julia Rose Ipock and Frederick acott Allen said their wedding vows at Beech Grove United Methodist Church at 7:00 p. m. with Rev. Richard Stanley and Rev. Langill Watson, First United Church of Wilson, officiating. Miss Sara Sugg was the Acolyte. The Church Chancel was decorated with baskets of bridal veil fern and an assortment of brass candlesticks holding white cathedral candles. Magnolia foilage was in the sanctuary windows. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McNeil Ipock of New Bern. She was given in marriage by her parents and was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore her sister’s gown of ivory satin brocade and chiffon which extended into a chapel length train, and her mother’s wedding veil of ivory illusion attached to a Juliet cap of lace. She carried a spray of ivory hand-rolled silk roses, trilium and rosebuds designed by her sister. Maid of Honor was Miss Martha Ipock, sister of the bride. She wore a floor length gown of azure blue qiana and chiffon. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Perry Morris, sister of the bride; Miss Malia Allen of Richardson, sister of the groom: and Miss Leela Kirkman. They wore floor length gowns of azure blue qiana and chiffon and carried miniature hurricane lamps showered with silk roses, trilium and sweet peas. Honorary Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Neil Ipock, sister of the bride; Miss Gloria Lightsey of Greenwood, S. C.; Miss Connie Sharpe of Taylorsville, N. C.; and Miss Linda Markley of Durham, N. C. The Groom’s Best Man was his father. Ushers were Robert Koester of Dickinson, Texas; Raymond Ruiz of Houston, Texas: and Bill Nelson of Dallas, Texas. The groom and ushers wore hand-rolled ivory silk rosebud boutonnieres. Music was presented by Mrs. Gregory Hubbell, organist, and Mr. Warren Barfield of Raleigh, soloist, who sang “Entreat Me Not To Leave Thee ’’and “Benediction" Mrs. Mike Mills and Mrs. Terry Morris presided over the bride’s book. The bride’s mother wore a floor length sapphire qiana and lace gown with a hand-rolled silk cymbidium orchid corsage. Her grandmothers, Mrs. Nettie D. Ipock and Mrs. Raymond A. Watson, also wore a hand-rolled silk cymbidium orchid corsage. A reception followed the wedding. The reception table was covered with an embroidered linen cloth and centered with an epergne of gladioli, Shasta daisies, Queen Anne’s lace and gypsophila flanked by lighted tapers in silver candelabra. Arrangements of summer flowers were placed throughout the house. West Craven Highlights, July 15, 1982, Page 5 Refreshments were wedding cake, fruit punch, ham biscuits, chicken salad in patty shells, crab- shrimp dip, cheese ball, spinach dip with vegetable tray, cheese biscuits, compote of melon balls and fruit, nuts and mints and groom’s cake. A watermelon basket of fruit was on the porch. Assisting at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Jim H. Ipock, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Ipock, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Allen Ipock, Mrs. Harry Shelton, Mrs. Jean Kinleyof Raleigh, Mrs. Mike Marks, Mrs. Sam Jackson, Mrs. J. E. Parker, Miss Nancy Parker, Mrs. Frank Styers, Miss Janet Bynum and Miss Dianne Bynum of Charlotte, Mrs, 0. G. Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sugg, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Parker, Miss Christina Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hartsell, Mrs. Eddie Hare. Mr. and Mrs. John Hobson, Mrs. Jimmy Singleton and Mrs. Pheby Green. Following the rehearsal on Friday night, Mr. and Mrs. 0. G. Richardson and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Morris entertained with a rehearsal party at the Richardson home on Woodcliff Farm. The house was arranged thru-out with summer flowers and roses and lighted candles. The refreshment table was covered with an embroidered linen cloth and centered with an epergne of summer flowers flanked by lighted tapers in silver candelabra. Refreshments of fruit punch, crab dip, cheese ball, chicken salad sandwiches, ham biscuits, lemon squares, cheese biscuits, meringues, nuts and mints were served. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Marion Barfield, Mrs. Warren Barfield of Raleigh, Mrs. Dennis Harris of Greenville, and Mrs. Frank Wilson of Newport News, Va. The bride earned her bachelor of science degree in Speech Pathology from Baylor University, Waco, Texas in May. The groom is attending the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. The couple left for a wedding trip to Hawaii with the bride wearing a navy and white linen suit and her mother’s corsage. Upon their return they will reside in Galveston, Texas.
