May 7th. All youth are in vited. The Vanceboro Methodist Women are having a yard sale. May 7, at Pat’s Store at the Stop light in Vanceboro. Mr. Seymour is a graduate of Camden High School andagraduate ofEast Carolina University. His experience has been atWest Craven High School and duringthe past six and half years he started and guided the athletic program at CCC. CCC is in Region 10 and considered an independent when scheduling program for the seasons. The strong sport at CCC is basketball. Mr. Seymour stated that he recruits strongly from Craven, Jones, and Pamlico High Schools. He mentioned outstanding West Craven High graduates that have been valuable to CCC such as Mike Emanuel, Jeff Jones, and currently Ceasar Harris. Mr. Seymour stated he feels that the close personal relationship at the communjiy college is primarily responsible for the successful athletic programs at CCC. He mentioned athletes Phil Faircloth, a New Bern High graduate, who will be taking a job in Computer Processing at Cherry Point; Alvin Fonville, West Craven High graduate, who will be working as a draftsman at the Newport News Shipyard; David Prescott, Pamlico High graduate, who will be going to ECU to major in Physical Education; Joe Holt, New Bern Hi^ graduate, who will be going to ECU to major in Physical Education; and Ronnie Boone, New Bern High graduate will enroll at UNC in Engineering as examides of the caliber of students that are part of the Athletic program at CCC.
