Denise Fillingame with Burlington Balloon.
Balloon Falls
in Vanceboro
After a lofty travel from Pleasant Grove. Route 3, Box 189
Burlington, N.C., a balloon that was launched by Donta Booker
arrived in Vanceboro about 4:00 p.m. on April 12. The balloon
had been released in Burlington on April 11.
Denise Fillingame saw the balloon as it came in for its landing
in a field across from her home on 1st Avenue in Vanceboro.
She managed to retrieve it intact. She is planning to contact the
launcher and report her finding to this newspaper.
The balloon launch has been done around the state to draw
attention and celebrate N.C. School Libraries Media Day.
The balloons were furnished by McDonald’s.
