The educational exhibit depicted miniature Goofy demon strating a variety of exercises. The overall title of the exhibit encou'^aged the observer to plan some physical activity and stop “Goofing” around. The club won a blue ribbon and fifty dollars for the first place. Renee Brimage won second 25 Years of Service Vanceboro Rural Volunteer fire Department will holds its annual Fireman’s Day, Saturday, October 6. This year marks 25 years of service to the Vanceboro area. The day will start with a parade at 10 a.m. and barbecue pork and chicken plates will go on sale at 11 a.m. The afternoon will be filled with games and events. A dunking booth, skeet shooting, horseshoes and checker tournament will be available. Just good fun for everyone. Everyone is invited to join in helping the Firemen make this the biggest Fireman’s Day ever. premium on her sweet pickles. Maxine Lawhorn won second premium on a striped corduroy suit which she lined. Maxine also received second premium for a white unlined jacket. Football Contest Third week winners in The Highlights football contest are; 1st place, Jimmy Huff-$10.and 12 points: 2nd place, Reginald Lancaster - $5 and 4 points: 3rd place, Eddie Smyer - $2 and 2 points.
