The pastor and members of St. Edwards F.W.B. Church would
like to invite all members and friends to share the Women’s Day
services on the first Sunday in October 7.
Eldress Janie Harris will be the guest speaker. Elder William
Waters is pastor.
Rev. Mrs. Daisy Wood of Washington D.C. was the recent guest
of her sister Mrs. Doily Crowell of Ft. Barnwell. She spent time
visiting other relatives and friends while in the Community. She
made special visits to see the sick and to pray with them for
f lpsolation. She believes in administering to the sick wherever
e sees the need and feels the care of all human beings.
Rev. Wood also likes the country and open air so she visited a
grape farm and picked to her satisfaction in the loveiy autumn
weather.
Mrs. Eva Hawkins and family were saddened by the loss of a
sister, Mrs. Rachel T. Lewis, of Portsmouth, VA. The sad occasion
brought many family members together. Mrs. Hawkins’children
stopped to visit a short while with her after the funeral. Mr. and
Mrs. Jimmy Hawkins family of Wyndanch N.Y., Mrs. Nancy Paul
of Deer Park, N.Y., Mrs. Lula Sutton and son of Brooklyn, N.Y.,
Mrs. and Mrs. Willie Hawkins of Kinston, Mr. Rufus Hawkins, Jr.,
and Mrs. Byrtle Mitchell of Ft. Barnwell were among the others
friends who stopped in Mr. John Z. Smith also accompanied the
family to the'funerpl in Wilson, N.C.

The Autumn weather has worked in the local farmers favor in
spite of hurricane Diana’s brush in the Ft. Banrwell area. They
seem to be harvesting all crops in record time.
