Close Call Gregory Allen Smith. 13, son of Floyd Allen and Sally Jane Smith of Vanceboro, shows a four-foot long rattlesnake he killed with a bow and arrow while deer hunting recently. While hunting, he left his stand to walk in the woods. Looking down, he saw the coiled snake about three inches from his feet. He threw his leg over the sanke, jumped back and shot the snake in the head and side. The arrow killed the snake. It had eight rattles and a button. He said he took the snake home on the end of an arrow and with shaky legs. He said it was a “one in a million shot.” Wurlitzer Pianos & Organs Selmer Band Instruments Guitar & Accessories AHordable Rental Programs Available on Pianos & Band Instruments, Excellent Service Fuller’s Music House, Inc.
