The Belles of Saint Mary’s September 25, 1942 MUS MUSCULUS WHERE 1942 STUDENTS ARE well i sure am glad you are back its been so lonesome this summer ive been to see jean lyons little sister she doesnt look a bit like jean i wonder if she knows who i am yesterday i thought i heard baby c down the hall so i slipped in sallie mckinleys old room and ran right over foxie clarkes foot i hope she gives me cheese like minkie did last year i tried to find sophia redwoods sister but theres not a soul here that even resembles sophie flossie says she saw eleanor the other day and so we are going to see her soon flossies my girl friend in case yon new girls havent met her yet shes a lulu i dropped hy to see miss davis on my way over holt we have chats together quite often over the most delicious cake i was afraid she might have forgotten me this year with so many cute new girls going out all the time i do wish meg stone would limit .her calls to one a day instead of ten or eleven every time the phone rings i get up to turn off the alarm clock what in the world is all that noise in holt I)arlor after meal time everybody grabs a piece of paper and goes shrieking down the hall flossie says it must he letters i think peggy williams is going to get a wagon to take her mail from the parlor to her room ive been borrowing knitting yarn to put in my bedroom brooksie gave me a whole ball of grey yarn i dont think she knows it yet though i had the worst time getting some from jane council she is knitting a sweater for somebody with real big shoulders and she doesnt have enough yarn to go around him martlia kinsey i do wish you would be more considerate of me i thought if you didnt stop hammering on your trunk lock my whiskers would certainly drop out i have the worst time avoiding alices children every where i turn i see one of those black streaks coming toward me baby c and i are thick friends now we tried t6 go to chapel together thursday morning but mrs brown politely asked baby out i dont think she saw me hiding between harriette whitner and betty harwell wasnt the new girl old girl party fun i stood beside sallie mckinley in the receiving line and she whispered all the new girls names to me flossie was boiling when she found me i was just about to hitch a ride on kathryn godfreys foot when i saw flossie coming but dont worry kathryn ill see you again soon i have a date with flossie this afternoon i think were going to take a stroll in the grove so so long till later MR.
