Gray fund .just received, has been added to various Saint Mary s fifnds since Christmas, an an nouncement from the president s office discloses. The estate of Mrs. Addis S. Cox, Winterville, sent $156, which, added to the $3,950.75 forwarded in 1944, makes the total gift from Mrs. Cox’s estate $4,106.75. This money has become a permanent part of Saint Mary’s endowment fund. Alinnna Gift Mrs. R. G. S. Davis, Henderson, formerly Mary C. Shuford, 10, now a member of the Alumnae Council, contributed $1,000 to the Centennial Fund. Mrs. C. C. The annuals will be distributed, as is customary, on Senior Class Day. Student Body Elects Beauty Favorites Elizabeth “Sande” Childs, Co lumbia, S. C., was chosen May Queen and Jean Craft Jenkins, Hartwell, Ga., maid of honor by the student body in elections held Tuesday and Wednesday. The May Court will be chosen at a later date, Jean Roberts, Durliam, cliairman of elections committee, announced. Sande Childs Tall, brunette Sande is a Senior and a Sigma. Last year at Saint Mary’s she was a member of Y.W.C.A., Political Science Club, and Letter Club. She made all- star basketball team, all-star soft- ball team, ping-pong team, tennis team, was student life-guard in charge of the swimming pool, and won the award for the outstand ing basketball player of the sea son. In addition, this year she is a member of the Woman’s Auxiliary and the BELLES staff, and is a marshal. Jean Jenkins This is Jean’s first year at Saint Mary’s. She is a member of the Sophomore class and of Doctors’ Daughters’ Club. At Hartwell High School, Hartwell, Ga., last year Jean was a member of Beta Club, Sub Deb Club, Latin Club, and was a cheerleader. The May Queen and maid of honor Avill be the center of the May Day celebration to be spon sored by Orehesis early in May. Elizabeth Roberts Elected Marshal Elizabeth Roberts, Culpeper, Va., has been elected the new mar shal by the student body, succeed ing Martha Best Yorke. Underclassmen To Qive Formal Dance In Gymnasium A Moonlight Serenade will be the theme of the Freshman-Sophomore annual formal dance in the gymna sium April 12 at 9 p.m. The bids will be $1.75 each, and every girl may have a date and three stags. Plans for an orchestra have not yet been completed.
