Mr. Hughes Appoints Sheridan
and Gaither as Vice-Presidents
Rosa Little was appointed by
The Rev. Mr. Hughes to act as
president of the Altar Guild for
the year 48-49. Jo Gaither and
Marjorie Sheridan were also ap
pointed to serve as vice-presi
dents.
Rosa, a senior this year, is on
the BELLES and Stage Coach edi
torial staffs, a member of the Grand
daughter’s Club and a hall counselor.
Marjorie is secretary of the
Junior Class, vice-president of the
Doctors’ Daughters Club, presi
dent of the choir, art editor of the
Stage Coach and a member of
the Glee Club. This is her junior
year at Saint Mary’s.
Jo, a junior this year, is on the
Honor Council, Stage Coach adver-
adveftising staff, member of the
Club, Granddaughters’ Club and
Canterbury Club.
Council Elects Jenkins
Susan Jenkins, who is a third-
year girl at Saint Mary’s, was
elected secretary of the Honor
Council and secretary of the Stu
dent Government Association at a
meeting of the Honor Council, Oc
tober 26, Susan is a member of
the Dramatics Club, the Y.Y’’.C.A.,
the Circle is a hall counselor.
She is from Goldsboro, N. C.

The Saint Mary’s reception for
friends of the school was held on
the afternoon of October 28 from
4:30 to 6:00 in the school parlor.
The guests were greeted at the
front door by Mr. and Mrs. Y®il-

er, and Miss Ruth Lineberry.

The Avalking of the Circle is one
of the most important events of
the school year. To be a member
of The Circle is the highest honor
that can be given a Saint Mary’s

Council Members, Marshals
The Junior class brought the elec
tions to a close with the election of
fiA^e dance marshals oia October 29.
The vice-president, secretary, and
treasurer of the class, honor council
representatKes, legislative body rep
resentatives, and dance marshals
have been elected for the coming
year. The Junior class chose Miss
Mary Ellington of the science de
partment as the adviser.
Betty BoAvles was elected vice-
president. She graduated from the
high school department of Saint
Mary’s last year. She Avas on the
staff of the Bulletin and of the Stage
Coach, a member of the Dramatic
Club, SAvimming Club, and all-star
softball team, secretary of the
Sophomore class and attendant in
the May Court. I’liis year she is a
member of the same clubs and also
a member of the Y.^V.C.A.
Marjorie Sheridan Avas chosen sec
retary of the class. Last year Mar
jorie graduated from the sophomore
class and Avas a member of the Glee
Club, Doctors’ Daughters’ Club, and
Choir. This year, she is president of
the Choir, vice-president of the Altar
Guild, vice-president of the Doctors’
Daughters’ Club, a member of the

Coach. This year she is vice-presi
dent of the Y.W.C.A., a member of
the Glee Club, and on the staff of the
Bulletin,
Legislative Body representatives
are Lucile Best and Rosalie Hicks.
Lucile graduated from the high
school department at Saint Mary’s
last year. She Avas a member of the
Canterbury Club and of the Stage
Coach, Bulletin, and BELLES staffs
and a member of the Honor Council.
