Seniors Give Yearly
Christmas Pageant
Saint Mary’s senior class will pre
sent its traditional Christmas pa
geant in the chapel, Sunday, Decem
ber 11, at 5:30 p.m. “Message to the
Shapherds,” “Holy Family,” “Jour
ney to Bethlehem,” “Joseph’s Dream
and Flight into Egypt with Mary”
will be the four of the scenes in the
pageant. The student body will join
in singing the processional, 0 Come,
III Ye Faithful, and in the reces
sional. Hark the Herald Angels
Sing.
The cast includes the following:

Christmas Dance
The animal Senior Dance will
take place at 8:30 p. m. in the
Saint Mary’.s gymnasium on Sat
urday, December 10. AValter
Plemnier’s eight-piece orchestra
will provide the music. Mij Plem-
nier is from Tarboro, North Caro
lina ; he has played at the Dunes
Club at Morehead Beach and at
one of the debutante parties this
year.
Virginia Ann Landis, chief
dance marshal, ivill lead the fig
ure. Others i)artici])ating in the

National Honorary Fraternity
Increases Membership By Nine
Sigma Pi Alpha, national honor-
ary language fraternity, has added
nine new members to its member
ship. Three of the nine are new girls
here at Saint Mary’s. The new mem
bers are as follows: Mimi Lynch,
Katherine Armistead, Virginia Gil
liam, Lucile Best, Alice Wilson,
Elizabeth Everage, Carolyn Kizer,
and Frankie Strosnider.

Mimi Lynch, of Winston-Salem,
is a member of the BELLES and
Stage Coach staffs, the Glee Cluh,
Canterbury Club, Altar Guild, and
a Mu.
Katherine Armistead is from Kin
ston and a member of the Glee Club,
Dramatic Club, Canterbury Club
and a Mu. ’
Virginia Gilliam is the third new
girl to be taken into the society.
Virginia is a day student.
Lucile Best, Clinton, is a mem
ber of the Letter Clnb, a hall coun-
ciler, a Mu cheerleader, and a mem
ber of the Canterbury Club. Lucile
is editor of the Stage Coach and
president of the Circle.
Alice 'Wilson is from Thomas-
ville. She is in the YWCA, on the
BELLES and Bulletin staffs. Alice
is the swimming assistant and chair
man of the Legislative Body.
Carolyn Kizer, of Brevard, is a
member of the hall council, the Can
terbury Club, and on the Stage
Coach staff.
Underclassmen Choose
New Beacon Members
Four new members were taken
into the Beacon, underclassman
honorary society at six o’clock on
the morning of December 5. This so
