Of Winning Team
Sigma s won the volleyball tourna
ment by defeating the Mu’s 26-22 in
the final game in the series yester
day. The Sigmas also won the first
game; the M u's won the second
game; and the third game, April 7,
ended in a tie, 21-21.
Seorekeepers were Lon Keller,
Sigma, and Sandy Donaldson, Mu.
Timekeepers were Emilio Patton,
Mh, and Kaiicy Hawkins, Sigma.
Miss Liverman refereed all games.
Members of the Sigma team were
Nancy Mclver, captain, Alice Hicks,
Kell Eley, Jane Hirst, Donna Bull,
Kancy 1 awson, Laura Hays, and
Timmy Timmons.
Members of the Mu team were

competition are tennis, softball,
swimming, and bowling’. ’The plaque
will be awarded to the winners at
the Athletic banquet si)orsorcd by
the Letter Club. Last year the Mu’s
won.

Baker, Laura Ervin, Lou Keller,
and Ann McCabe, and two fresh
men, Kancy Bowles and Betsy Webb,
March 24. Beacon selects members
on the basis of school si)irit and ex
tra-curricular activities. The ]>ur-
pose of this group is to j)romote
better school s])irit and more co
operation among high school stu
dents.

Second Smedes won the hall vol
leyball tournament March 26 by de
feating First Holt 30-25.
