Granddaughters’ Club
Announces Plans
This year the Granddaughters’
Club is planning several projects,
which include the selling of yarn
octopuses, St. Alary’s plates, and
bakery goods.
The major project, the sale of
bakery goods, is designed to solve
an ever present problem of St.
Alary’s girls—hunger. Alary Chiles,
Hannah AVright, and AArginia AIc-
Kimmon are in charge of this pro
ject. AAAthin the next few weeks
girls from the Granddaughters’
Club will be coming on the halls
at 9:30 AAYdnesday nights with a
wide selection of cakes, pies, and
other “goodies.” For a very small
price, one will be able to enjoy a
huge slice of chocolate layer cake
or lemon meringue pie. If this sale
proves a success, it will be con
tinued all year.
Anna Kay Henry and Caroline
London are investigating the pos
sibilities of a sale of yarn octopus
es made by the girls of the club.
These bright colored creatures with
braided tenacles are familiar to all.
They will be sold in a variety of
colors and styles to suit the buy
er. A yarn octopus would make a
perfect Christmas gift for a little
sister, or even a friend.
The Granddaughters’ Club offers
another perfect gift for Alother or
a favorite aunt. They are selling
beautiful AAYdgewood plates, each
having white borders and centers
decorated with a picture of Smedes.
The plates are available in red or
blue and may be purclia_sed from
Alargaret Atkinson in 23o Smedes.
The Granddaughters’ Club hopes
that every St. Alary’s girl will find
a special need filled by one of these
projects.

best individual performance of the
season.
