Winston Con nor, Chairman, welcomed Miss Ellington and Air. Tate. Aliss Rich ardson was not able to be present. Winston turned the meeting over to Betsy Nichols, vice-president of the Student Body, who read the tabulation of last year’s Honor Council, Hall Council, and Leg. Body. Sally Leach was elected secretary of the Leg. Body and Harriett King was appointed chair man of the Petitions Committee. It was announced that petitions would be due on November 22 since the next meeting will be held on De cember 4. • The representatives of the Leg. Body are as follows: Chairman of Leg. Class — Cathy Chandler Beacon Taps Four New Members Four new members were tapped into the Beacon, the high school honorary club, on Saturday night, November 18, 1961. The new mem bers are Octavia Ashford, Terrell Boyle, Alice Carr, and Sharon Finch. Tay, who is from New Bern, is a Sigma cheerleader, a member of the Doctors’ Daughters Club, the Granddaughters’ Club, and the Young Republicans Club. Last year Tay was the Freshman Class dance marshal. Terrell, a AIu, is from Charlotte and is secretary of the Sophomore Class. She is also a member of the Y'oung Democrats Club, the Altar Guild, and the Y.W.C.A. Alice, another Charlottean, is a Sigma cheerleader, a member of the Young Republicans Club, the Doctors’ Daughters Club, and the Y.W.C.A. Sharon, who is a AIu, is from Thomasville. She is Vice-President of the Sophomore Class, a member of Orchesis, the Dramatics Club, and the A'oung Republicans Club, the Glee Club, and the letter Club.
