Test-Ban Poll Taken
St. Mary’s girls seem to possess
'’arious stages of knowledge on
current events. A poll taken dnr-
hig the nmek of October 14-18 re-
^’ealed that approximately 45%
cf St. Mary’s students are totally
Unaware of important trends and
'corld and national news.
The poll was concerned with
^he Xuclear Test-Ban Treaty,
'cliieh Avas signed in Moscoav in
^iigust and ratified by the U. S.
Senate in early September.
The informed students had A’a-

Senior, remarked that the United
Elates Avas finally being taken in
the last time by Riissia. She
quoted Lenin’s remark “Treaties

proper time.” Ann Chamberlain

It Avill ncAmr be recognized by

Saints, Sally Adams, Flo McNeer,
Lando’n Harris, and Weldon Ca
bell Avere filmed in fhe College
Inn’pool Avhile performing a three
minute routine. The girls did a
sA’iichronized interpretation of
music by employing various

caps.
Orchesis Members Portray
Dances
Mr. Spain is noAV in the process
of filming Suzi Nagel, Jane De-
Loach, and Harriet Williams, who
AAull represent Orchesis in the
film. They Avill portray three dif
ferent moods and moA'ements of
the same piece of music and com
bine them into one dance. Suzi
does a lyric interpretation, Jane
does a ballet, and Harriet does a
modern dance. The costumes are
colorful in order to shoAV up well
in the technicolor film, yet at the
same time they are loose and free.
Both Orchesis and Sea Saints
are proud to participate in the
film, and they feel honored to have
been chosen for the parts.
