These counselors were chos en by a committee consisting of Dianne Ricks, new president of the Student Government Associa tion, Pamiiiy Holcombe, chairman of the Hall Council, and Mary Ravenel, secretary of the Hall Council with the help of the Dean. To be a counselor a girl must have a C average and the coun selors must be approved by Dr. Stone. The specific duties of the Hall (,'ounselors are: to call and preside over hall meetings, to serve on the Hall Council, to en force student regulations, to ap point or to supervise the election of hall representatives who assist hall counselors at all times, to grant and be responsible for such limited dormitoiw permissions as designated by the Chairman of the Hall Council during the Counselor Training program, and to exercise leadership on the hall by helping in problems and activities of col lege life and to assist the dean of Students in such matters. The Hall Counselors appointed for next year are: Dianne Ricks from Jarratt, Va. and Mike Hill from Arlington, Ya.; Pammy Hol combe from Spartanburg, S. The Sophomore class will hold an assembly at 10:30 a.m. At this time the class prophecy and the class historv will be presented in skits. At 4:00 p.m. the Senior Class assembly will begin with all of the seniors wearing white dresses. The seniors will also have their class will and class jirojihecy ITresented. Cindy Schwartz, senior class president, will make a talk during this assembly, and keys for the Handbook, Stagecoach, and Belles will be given to the editors for next year. After Class Da.y the annuals will be distributed by the Stagecoach statf. Two Inducted As Circle Walks At 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, ]\Iay 20 the Circle inducted two new members into its organiza tion. The two .iuniors inducted were Periy Grimes and Harriet Gilliam. Perry is an old girl from Lexington, N. C. She is president of the Grand-DaTighter’s Club and was recentl.v elected editor of the Handbook for next year. This .A’oar Perrv has worked on the handbook committee and has been a kill cheerleader. She .won an award for her contribution as a cheerleader. Last .vear Perry was a member of the Beacon, the hon orary high school organization. Harriet is a new girl from Vir ginia Beach, Va. Last year Har riet served as Senior Class secre- tar.v, was a member of the Stu dent Government Association, ivas a member of the National Honor Society, and was chosen to give a speech in assembly during Hon or Week as a representative of the Junior Class and also served on the Student Government nom inating committee. Harriet was elected vice-pres. of the Student Government Association for next vear. lotte and Linda Connelly from Morganton; Jidia Anna Leigh from Tarboro and Ginny Schaum from Winston-Salem; Betsy Price from High Point and Perry Grimes from Lexington; and Jean King from Tampa, Fla.; and Dixie Thomas from Winston-Salem. The Counselors were inducted Friday May 29.
