The St. Mary’s Glee Club, under e direction of Miss Geraldine Cate, resented its annual Christmas con- :rt on Thursday, December 16, at -30 p.m. The program consisted of tree parts. The first part contained works om the early Church—“In Natali •omine” and “Psallite Unigenito” by raetorius—followed by two songs of ^temporary English composers, 2ueen of Heaven” by Dunhill, and rptar Candles” by Head. Two other l>ngs completed the group. W The vocal ensemble was joined by Carolina State University dee Club for the second part of the program. Together they sang several flections: the beautiful Advent ^horale “Break Forth O Beauteous leavenly Light” by Bach; “The ‘hepherd’s Carol” by Billings, who one of the earliest American bmposers; “Thou Must Leave Thou iJ,owly Dwelling” from “L”Enfance ^u Christ” by Berlioz; “The Carol of kie Bells”; and the French-Canadian arol “Tell us, Shepherd Maids.” Folk songs and spirited rhythms liade up the final part of the pro- jTam. Here were sung the “Swedish ' )ance Carol,” with a dance by Char- )tte Atkinson; “Carol of the Drum” A which Jody Friedburg played be drums; “Rise Up Shepherd and ijollow” and “A Rockin’ All Night ” vith guitar accompaniment; “Do You ; lear What I Hear?” accompanied by rum and bells; and the completion f the program with “We Wish You J Merry Christmas.” J* Soloists were: Meg Christian, lOonna Crisp, Jody Friedburg, Noell tohnson, Ann Lashley, Libba Mas- I'ey, and Dottie Nahikian. Tbis tradition consists of dances, performed by the members of the school; and, of course, there is the May Court which consists of the May Queen, her Maid of Honor, and the twelve attendants. The May Court Nominating Com mittee is responsible for presenting to the school its nominations for the May Queen and the attendants. There may also be nominations from the floor.
