Frances Gilliam attended First
Colonial High School in Virginia
Beach, Va., where she was chap
lain of the Junior Civitans, the
senior editor of Hie annual, a
cheerleader, and a homecoming
attendant. Frances was also a
member of the National Honor
Society, took part in her student
government and was voted a sen
ior superlative.
This year, Frances serves as
treasurer of the junior class, and
a project chairman of the Grand
daughters’ Club. She has been
elected Assembly Chairman for
’68-’69.
Also elected marshal was Aim
Harrell from Edeiiton, N. C. Ann
was extremely active in her high
school. She was a marshal, a mem
ber of the National Honor Society,
and secretary and treasurer of
the student government. Ann was
elected Lt.-Governor of Girl’s
State, co-president of her district
Tri-IIi-A^, and W o r 1 d Seiwice
Chairman of North and South
Carolina. Ann’s activities also in
cluded her being president of the
F.T.A., Homecoming Queen, and
she was elected a senior superla
tive.
Anne Holcomb has entered into
life at St. Mary’s this year. This
junior from Spartanburg, S. C.,
is a member of the Sea Saints.
She has also worked on makeup
for the Dramatics Club and is on
the Altar Guild. Anne was select
ed as a contestant in the BELLES
Glamour Contest.

SECRETARY OF HALL
COUNCIL FOR 1968-69
SUSAN SUMMERS
On Wednesday, Alarch 27, the
student body of St. Mary’s voted
for secretary of the Hall Council.
After a rnii-off between Coriiiiie
Davidson and Susan Summers,
the latter was elected to serve
during the 1968-69 school year.
Susan came to St. Mary’s from
East Point, Georgia. She was
honored by her high school as
an outstanding senior. She was a
member of the Student Council
and the Inter-Club Council. She
served as class historian to the
Anchor Club, a service club, and
was a member of the National
Honor Society.
Susan was vice president of her
junior class and president of her
senior class. She was the v’arsity
cheer leader captain and feature’s
editor for her school newspaper.
Several honors were bestowed on
her during her high school years.
She receiv’ed the Good Citizenship
Award and The Elkes Club A^outh
Leadership A w a r d. Sue was
Young American of the Day. Su
san wa,s elected Aliss Tartan, a
position similar to that of Ala.v
Queen at St. Alary’s, and received
the Faculty Cup Award.
