Sophomores Sponsor
Informative Program
The sophomores this y'ear have
begun a project in which we hope
each person at St. Alary’s will
participate. In order to feel more
informed about current affairs
and other subjects of interest, we
plan to have a student-faculty' dis
cussion every' one or two months
led b.y a faculty member or visi
tor. The sophomores will finance
these discussions by' selling sand
wiches and cookies on different
Friday nights in order to furnish
an honorarium for the .speaker
and to serve refreshments at the
discussion.
The first discussion featured
Air. Serxner who talked about pa
per currency and showed display's.
Although it was successful, we
hope to have more students and
faculty members at the future
programs.
To pursue the field introduced
by' David Hoy, the next speaker
is from the Institute for Research
and Enlightment in Richmond,.
Virginia. She is an authority' on
Edgar Cayee and the Bible. To
prepare for her p r o g r a m, an
assembly will be devoted to this
psy'chie before the student-faculty
discussion.
Other topics for future discus
sion are A^iet Nam, various re
ligions, and racial problems.
The committee heads largely re
sponsible for making this possi
ble are: Amy' Carr, Program Com
mittee ; Bek Hinkle, Aloney' Com
mittee ; Susan Austin, Advertise
ment Committee; and Alarily'n
Kirkland, Food Committee. The
president of the sophomore class,
Pam DeVere, has also been in
strumental in this class project.
