PAGE 4 SPORTS OUTLOOK JEAN LYBROOK This year we are very fortunate to have with us Peg^ Kirk Bell. She will be the golf consultant with faculty status. On a monthly basis, she will review the students and their progress in golf. By the time the new gym is completed, she hopes to have set up a program so that the school’s golf record will be outstanding as its tennis record. She will also evaluate the present program and its effectiveness. BELLES OP ST. MARY’S September 22, 1071 Mrs. Bell was born in Findlay, Ohio and attended Sargeant’s College, Boston Univer sity, and graduated from Rollins College with a B.S. in physical education. She has a long list of achievements and honors to her credit. She was a member of the Curtis Cup Team in 1948-1950. She was the North-South 1949, 1950 Eastern Amateur Champion. She won in ^ Championship in 1947 with Babe Dickerson Zaharias. In 1961 she was named the L. P. G. A. Teacher of T ® Pro-member of the E. P. G. A. She is the author of A Woman’s Way to Better Golf, and a contributor to Woman Golfer”, "Par Magazine”, “Golf World , and "Golf Digest”. With her husband, Warren Bell, she the Pine Needles Country Club in 1953. Warren Bell is a former pro-basketball player. They have three children — Bonnie U6J, Peggy Ann (13), and Kirk (9). Re cently she started a golf camp for youth in the summer called Youth Golfari. She runs two ladies Golfaris in the winter.
