Quality points and quaiity point averages are the ways in which colieges compare the quality of work done by students at a particular institution. Your quality point average at St. Mary’s reflects the quality of the work done at St. Mary’s. It can be compared to the Q.P.A. of other students at St. Mary’s to determine your class rank, etc. It would be unfair to compare the Q.P.A. of a student who had done all her work at St. Mary’s with that of a student who had taken work at a college with dif ferent academic standards. Miss Ringer: I understand why grades do not transfer, but isn’t it true that credit will not be accepted for work which earned the grades of “C” or “D” even though such grades would earn credit at St. Mary’s and would be accepted for transfer at many other colleges.
