My friend told me Santa Claus was not real and when I asked her mother, she told me the same thing." Department By Karen Work Staff Writer Saint Mary's welcomes Kim Piontek, who is from St.Joseph, Michigan. She received her B.A in psychology at the University of Michigan then attended UNC - Chapel Hill for graduate school where she received her masters in sports psychology. Miss Piontek was a teacher's assistant at Carolina and also taught aquatics and aerobics. She heard about Saint Mary's while at UNC and heard that there was a job opening and was excited to start up a swim team here. Miss Piontek teaches two physical fitness classes, beginning swimming, water aerobics, aerobics, lifeguard training, swim conditioning, tenth grade physical education, and also is the coach of the new swim team. Outside of teaching her at Saint Mary's, Miss Piontek is also engaged and enjoys various activities like movies, eating out, and of course exercising. She really docs enjoy teaching at Saint Mary's, she has had to adjust somewhat to teaching high school students but she likes the challenge.
