My Heavenly Home.
0, to a home I long to go,
Where there’s no pain nor woe;
A home where all is ever love,
In sweet, sweet heaven above
May God ever help me to be
From all my sins set free.
When from this earth I’m called
May I be white as snow.
Help me to live a better life
While on this earth I roam—
Keep me ever from sin and strife.
Oh! then receive me home.
Oh, might we all unite to join
The chorus of the sky.
And live forever with the throng
Of the sweet bye and bye.
For there are
To Jive with Jesus there,—
Then may we all be truly sure
To meet them over there.
some who’ve gone
Although they’ve beat us in the race.
They’ve trod the heavenly road—
Yes, saved by his wonderful grace
That leads to home and God.
It is with a sad heart that we note
the death of one we loved, viz.; Little
May Greer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Greer, but with humble
submission to God we say, *‘Thy will
be done.” She was born September
2nd 1900, and fell asleep April 28th
1903—age 2 years 7 months and 27
days. She was a bright and sweet lit
tle girl, and was loved by all who
knew her. She was full of life, and
an innocent little girl. She was sick
eighteen days and bore her suffering
with much patiencje. They had a
good physician, but he did her no
good. Sue leaves a dear father and
mother and relatives to mourn their
loss. Rev. W. K. Greer conducted the
burial services at the grave.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place in her honie is vacant now
Which never can be filled.
She is gone but not forgotten—
She is still in our memory.

Dear Brother Editor:—I would
fail if I were to try to express to you
my appreciation of the Blue Ridge
Baptist—of the life and vigor it gives
to our people. I wish I was able to
continue the encouragement.
We are just what our motives are.
Everything in life depends upon the
motives from which it springs. We
are no better nor worse than onr
motives. The highest and purest mo
tive is that of doing all for the Lord.
Therefore, the soul that would eat
bread must do it with pains, perse
verance and patience. Despondence
is the worst of all to the Christian.
It is well to keep a clear look-out for
what is still ahead. The glory of every
true life is iu the time to come. God
has never yet exhausted himself in
richness of splendid radiance to his
waiting people. There is that in ihe
distance which eye hath not seen nor
ear heard; and wise men may well
think of readiness to make the great
journey and meet the revelation. We
ought to learn to estimate results and
forget process. It is not necessary to
talk continually about faded flowers
and departed joys and thwarted
hopes. It is wise to let the dead past
hiiry its dead.
May God increase our zeal and en
ergy for his cause in the future.
Yours for the Baptist,
P. H. Haire.
