Brethren we are in our new home, if it is not quite finished. It is already a handsome place. It is going to be all we can ask God to give us in the way of a church house. We need to rally to its completion. If our brethren and friends of Wil mington and the readers of The Helper would just help us a little just now, we will finish our house out of debt. So many people say “I want to help those who try to help themselves.” Well, now is your time to do that, for the Brooklyn church has certainly been faithful—I mean for the most part. There are some among us at Brooklyn who are not doing their duty and God will attend to that. He has attended to folks who took their Lord's money, and brother He will bring this mutter up before you more than one time. God will make you regret with shame and remorse that VO -take your brethren pay for your p,. of your church. If you have lied up to now, there is yetu cLittm. • you to redeem yourself, tease come up now with your pai ho Lord loves a cheerful giver, ou one';' UHIOH KEETINO. T' , Union Meeting at CastleHaynes lielu last Friday, Saturday, and Sun day, WoS enjoyed very much by those attending. The writer had a good time on Saturday. It is always pleasant to get out among the coutry brethren, and having not been out much lately it was a treat. Brother Blossom is a whole-souled Baptist and has done a great deal for the little church there. Bro. Canady was made Moderator again, and bro. Hocut, Secretary. Most of the questions on the pro gram were discussed with interest. The next Union will be held at Caintuck Chapel, in September. A program for the Union will appear in The Helper in due time. TO THE CHURCHES OF TEX £ tSTERH A8S0CIATI0H. The Helper is your little paper, and let us stick together trying to help in our churches. There is a great field here in our Association and wo should enter it with a view to solving some problem that seSms to stand in our way. There is great indifference among us, and if we are not interested we cannot interest others. There are things that we should hold up before our churches: 1. It does not take large numbers to do successful work. 3. Our churches need development —“Teach them all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” If we could only have faith, “All things are poesible. ” As pastors, we should bestir our selves to earnest efforts in our church es and Association. Have something in view. Decide under God what should be done, and then, trusting in Him, put forth ef forts to accomplish it. If your church is small and the workers few. then ask God to take the “few loaves and fishes” and feed the multitudes.” It is God’s work my brother that we are doing, and He is with us with all power in His hand. Our churches need development. Our members should be taught that they are members of Christ 's Church. “Heirs of God and joint with Christ,” It means something to be a church member, if indeed we are members. It is one thing to have our names on a church book, and quite another, to be heirs of the Kingdom of Christ, or even to be active workers in the church of which we are members. “Let your lights so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in Heaven.” Every member can do this. Not one to be left out—not one. Every one should attend church.— Come praying to God for His blessing on every service. Praise Him in song. Do not let others sing for you, you need to praise and adore your God. Do not let your pastor do your pray ing; when he prays, join the prayer and think that you are calling on Almighty God. When the collection is taken, always do something. Do what you can and thank God for it. A groat many Christians are not blessed by going to church because they refuse to support their church with their offerings. God said to His people once, “Ye have robbed me. Bring ye all the tithes into the store house.” O, there are great numbers of church members who are robbing God. You may be very poor and that’s all right. God will never take the last without giving you more. Do you believe that the poor widow who gave all her living was not provided for? The woman who prepared the last cake of bread for Elijah, and gave the last of the oil was amply provided for during the great famine. Let us see what a fine record we can make this year in our Association. Brethren let ys commence now to prepare for the ' Association. Do not very last w.iek. We wo mouflis. So m 'ur cl 'tress.' Pastor, determine to attend the As sociation, and also to bring a good report from your church. DON’T FORGET. Have you given the Brooklyn church a contribution yet? Now is the time. GIGERO T. Pray for him while be is off, and for the meeting which be shall hold. ! Men guilty of indolence, greed, pride, uuforgiveness, and other sins, against whichGod has pronounced his judgments, are as certain to pay the last farthing of penalty as it demon policeman had handcuffed and led them to the pit. Gravity, the love and judgments of God, are inflexible to those who fall in with them. It is easier to escape one’s shadow in the sun than to dodge the haunting of the penalty of unre- peuled of wrong. FREE BLOOD CURE. Att offer provittK faith to Sufferers. Is your Blood Pure?
