PAGE FOUR THE hilltop. MARS HI LLCOLLEGE, MA R S H I L L, N. K9 KRACKS Well I begged for something to happen and it did. Plenty of things, too. Keep up the work, Collegians. This column won’t die from lack of news. * The following note was lost hy some damsel and the thing was found by a professor and the fireworks were on! Here ’tis: Your Honor Dear Have you seen my Horace jack? If not ask Pearle, Lib, Ruby, Donnie Mae, or Virginia. Today is my day to read. Louise Consequently, Mr. Huff’s hair is growing gray; his students are sight reading on class—all because of an other lost note. ♦ * » For some reason or other Claude Royall has dropped his matrimonial bureau and is spending his time on one case. Seery is so dumb he thinks Cecil DeMillo runs a chemistry laboratory instead of a Hollywood studio. For instance, he tried to make himself believe that “Perlmutter” was a Po tassium compound since DeMille had associated in a picture “Potash and Perlmutter.’’ « * * Had a B. Y. P. U. social the other night. Had a plumb good time. Some of these people are sorry they can’t be declets so they could be at all the parties at the same time. Perhaps someone may think that Santa Claus has come to town when he walks down the halls in Melrose and Brown, but this particular Santa Claus wishes a little remuneration. The candy, apples, bananas, oranges, and whatnot are placed in these dor mitories for the convenience and use of the students. The owner of this honor system says that the honor of the students so far has been com mendable, but that it could be bet ter. If we are to have the benefit of this convenient “store” that will save trips to town when one wants a bite to eat, we must play square with the man who has gone to the trouble to help us. It is a matter of personal in tegrity. No one is going to catch up with you if you steal from the honor tables except your own conscience. If you do not play square with the owner of the plan then you will be deprived of the convenience that it offers. That is the proposition. Now then, boys, let’s make every move we can to further honesty in the school and begin right here by shooting square and deposit a coin for every piece of candy that we take. —W. The “M” Club or dered that Graydon go on the soup line; so the boy turned around and got a date with Jim’s girl. Still, you can never tell; he might not have been only doing it for spite. Since Miss Bowden thinks there should be a course on “love” taught in college—if someone will endow a chair—I suggest Mr. Lee as head of the department. Love won’t mix with history and economics, he tells us, and knowing his lectures, we’re will ing to believe it. (Continued from Page 3) 35 33 32 24 34 35 31 43 52 33 27 Weaver Biltmore Y. C.
