Mack Robinson not in the Infirm- Greetings after a long absence while the C-I’s held sway over this auspicious journal! And how have you-all been a-doin’? The very first thing that we want to do this time is to extend our deep est appreciation to the faculty foi al lowing us to have radios. Thanks a 'ot! And then we of the staff and a -ew others would like to extend our chanks to the McLeods who so gra ciously entertained us one' evening. It was swell! Next in line would come ;he Trenthams—congratulations up on your latest addition or should we say edition? To the basketball team, we offer words of praise for their record and record-breaking during the season. And to our new house mother, we give you our salutations and best wishes for a happy sojourn with us in our spacious abode. Perhaps you have not noticed or lid not witness these little incidents, but did you see—'Cub Hunt delivei'- ng a parcel to some girl in Spilman ':o the accompaniment of the banter- ng of some half-dozen of his friends vhile his ears slowly changed color everal times? We just wonder if the >ne to whom the package was given is the lady of his heart or choice? More power to you. Bruin! And ”hile we are on the subject of ath letics and girls together, how about the three crushes that an equal num ber of young ladies have for Cap tain Hawkins of basketball fame? Two blondes and one brunette. And -,lso along this line, just what fair lamsel of this campus receives let ters regularly from our kid brother? What-ya-shay? Skipit! Our mistake.! And have you seen yet the proverb over the magazine rack in the library which says, “The man who reads is the man who succeeds”? We had lever seen it until about one week ago. Our nomination for the students choice of their favorite speaker would be Dr. Howard Richardson. Do you agree with us? You know, the expresions upon the faces of the faculty members on the platform during chapel talks are remarkable. No two are alike, natur- \lly, but such contrasts have hither to been unimaginable for us. Just offhand, we would say that those of liss Bowden and Mrs. Vann offer :he biggest contrast. That was just a passing observation from us. Speaking of cooperation, we would ike to make just this little observa tion. The LAUREL staff started its vork sometime last October. There vere announcements made about the pictures which were to be placed in the book of both student body and :he faculty. And now, four months after the pictures had been asked for and after repeated requests for them, the staff is not yet able to complete •ither plates of the students or of the 'acuity because of a lack of pictures. Just four months in w^hich to have a picture made. And with that, we say—^Until next time, Knotts to you! Alumni News W. Vance Boise has been named State Highway Engineer, succeeding the late John D.
