The season was opened in No
vember with the sending of a
delegation to the North Carolina
Student Legislative Assembly in
Raleigh. Over one hundred stu
dents, representing 18 colleges
and universities in North Caro
lina, attended the conference,
which was the first of its kind in
the South.
Eddie Lieberman won the
Dixie championship for the sec
ond straight year in the Straw
berry Leaf Festival at Winthrop
college in December, competing
with senior college speakers from
a wide area. Flowers Clark won
first place in the second round of
debating; John Ball, Warren
Smith, Thomas Freeman, Jesse
Moore, Ruth Martin, and Eugene

Fifth Program In Radio
Series To Be Presented
By Chorus
Next Thursday night at 8:30
o’clock the fifth program of the
Mars Hill College “On the Air”
series will be presented over
station WWNC. The college
chorus under the direction of
Miss Zula Coon with Miss Martha
Biggers as accompanist, and Miss
Mildred Gwin assisting, will pre
sent an Easter music program at
that time.
One program will remain of
the present series, an original
play by Miss Janie Britt, adapted
