Study Courses In the first meeting of the Business Club, after devotional period led by William Helder- man three talks will be given: "Is It Worth It?" by N. J. Orr, "Touchstone to Success," by Sarah Nelle Vaughn, and "The Ideal Business Club Member," by Ruth Rabb. J. E. Boykin is president of the Business Club; Ruth Robb is vice-president, and Rachel Fleming is secre tary. The meeting of the Science Club will be opened by a de votional period conducted by Robert Griffin. The remainder of the program will consist of talks by the members of the club: "Incendiary Bombs," by Fred Ellison, "Land Mines," by Nevin Simons, "The New B-19 Bomber," by Luther Jarvis, and "Our Pursuit Ships," by Harold Trentham. The first meeting of the Inter national Relations Club will be held at the home of Dean I. N. Carr, sponsor of the organi zation. The topic of discussion will be Russia. Mr. McLeod conducted a class in personal evangelism. This class drew many students be cause of the particular interest of our students in this phase of Christian endeavor. It is believed that the study courses have helped to en lighten us on the importance of training for the service of Christ and to make us more deeply aware of the privilege that is ours to share in the Training Union program on our campus. If there are seven contestants in this, it is possible for three to win gold medals. If there are enough gold medal winners, they may compete in a state contest to be held at Elizabeth City, North Carolina, the winner of which is awarded a pearl medal. This contest will precede a national meet, and this winner will be awarded a diamond medal. A Mors Hill boy won the highest national award several years ago. You can do as well as any other. The books containing the readings ore in the library reserve book room, and it is hoped that each so ciety group will present its contest before Anniversary. A commencement award is also given to the two winners of the Philomathian-Euthalian contest and the Nonpareil-Clio contest at the end of the year. According to Mr. McLeod, themes should be like a girl's skirt—long enough to cover the subject but short enough to be interesting.
