Octd W( MH Faculty and Staff Members Attend High School College Days Several of the administrative personnel and faculty members have recently represented Mars Hill College in high school College Day programs throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. On October 13 Miss Snelson and Miss Bjngham attended a Col lege Day and Alumni Meeting in Richmond, Virginia. Dean Lee recently went beyond the bounds of the three inclusive states and attended a meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition. Miss Snelson al- so visited schools in several west ern North Carolina towns. These schools included Franklin, Syl- va. Canton, Enka, and Lee Ed wards high schools. She also at tended Murphy High School in Murphy and Swain County High School in Bryson City. Several other western North Carolina high schools were visit ed by Dean Lynch. They were Brevard, Hendersonville, Ruth erford ton, Marion, Morgan ton, and Lenoir high schools. He also visited Burke County High School in Drexel and Caldwell High School in Hudson. Mr. Brown visited four high schools in piedmont North Car olina: R. J. Reynolds, Forsyth County, High Point high schools, and Guilford County High School in Jamestown. In addi tion, he was the Mars Hill Col lege representative in schools throughout South Carolina. Ai ken, North Augusta, Johnston, Union, and Newberry high schools were included in bus visits, also Clinton, Laurens, Greenwood, and Abbeville high schools, as well as Batesburg High School in Leesville. Several Virginia high schools were visited by Mr. Chapman. In Roanoke he visited Cave Springs, Jefferson, and William Fleming high schools; in Chris- tianburg, Montgomery County High School; and in Salem, An drew Lewis, William Byrd, and Craig County high schools. Mr. Chapman also visited Pulaski, Dublin, and Floyd high schools. It was the main objective of these representatives to promote Mars Hill College as a Christian institute of higher learning. Other College Day programs are scheduled for the very near fu ture. Honor Gubs Induct Members at Meetings Martha Nanney and Lucille Connor are the new members of the Spanish and Logothia Clubs respectively. The International Relations Club has six new members. Price, wife of Joe Price, English professor at Mars Hill. The book taught will be Caribbean Quest by Frank Pat terson, a study of Southern Bap tist mission work in the Caribbean area. The meeting will be held in Stroup Parlor, November 9, at 7:30 p.m. At the October general meeting, October 12, in Huffman Parlor, the YWA sponsor, Mrs. Don Henderson, conducted an installa tion service for the YWA campus and dorm officers. Van Ramsey Serves As Minister Of Music Van Ramsey, 1961 graduate of Mars Hill, is serving as min ister of music at the Mount Home Baptist Church in Mor- ganton, and attending Lenoir Rhyne College. After finishing there. Van ex pects to enter a theological sem inary and study for a degree in religious education while com pleting his master’s degree in sacred music. While at Mars Hill he was bass soloist with the college touring choir and served as minister of music at a near by church.
