Through this means students have an opportunity to display their writing ability to their fellow classmates. It is with great pleasure that we present to Mars Hillians this — the 1961 Literary Edition of the Hilltop. Each student was urged to sub mit any type of original work fo.r consideration and many articles were received by the staff. The articles ranged from poems, to short stories and personal experi ences dealing with various topics including missionary callings, com munism, democrary, babysitting and leprechauns. Some of these articles may be found within the following pages. Because of space only those articles which the staff considered the best could be print ed in the magazine. To those who were fortunate enough to have articles published we say—congratulations and hope that you will continue to use )'our writing talents. To those who wrote articles that were not pub lished—we wish to encourage you to continue writing and develop ing your desire to write. To the readers we say—read it with care, read it because it was written by your fellow classmates, read it, and enjoy your Literary Edition to the fullest. The Hilltop wishes to thank all who aided with the Literary Edition—the English department, the typists and especially those students who were interested enough to submit material.
